Don't expect too much from the box though. It does have a very thin velvet lining inside, but I wouldn't count on the inside box cells to isolate flavors or prevent oxidation, so foil or paper covered tea bags are a must for this tea chest. This item is what it mostly says it is. It's a paper covered pine box with a couple of handles and a front catch. Overall a decent value if you buy it on a good sale. Most of the tea flavors are decent (I especially like the Peach Tea, but dislike the Orange Spice Tea). Recently these Bentley Tea Chests have been on sale at Amazon for quite decent prices.
Consider buying only for the price of tea, say for $15. Indeed, the tea is okay, the box is a joke. The full price is outrageous for this low quality clumsily decorated cardboard.
Not wht I would want to display on the countertop. The applique material does not line up and there are numerous rough edges. The tea assortment in the chest is excellent, vey tasty. However, the chest is very poorly put together.
I purchased this primarily for the chest, and could easily forgive the poor selection in flavors if the chest was worth more than $10. There are glue splatters all over the top, and scratches on the inside. The paint on the corners looks like it was done by 3rd graders. Hand decorated. As it stands, I'm going to try to return this to Amazon ASAP.***Very Disappointed*** Read all the reviews before purchasing this. I should have read all the reviews more carefully. Maybe by slave labor in some 3rd world country. The only "exotic" thing about this purchase is probably the chemicals used in gluing the cheap paper onto the chest.
Some of the combinations of flavors just didn't go well together, and often drowned the flavor of the tea. Although the print is very nice, the description of it is a bit overblown.The tea inside was okay. This was a very disappointing purchase. The 'Premium Hand Decorated Exotic Wooden Tea Chest' appears to be pine decorated with printed paper.
